3 injured, including child, following collision in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, IN - Authorities are investigating a crash on the southeast side of South Bend last week that left three people hospitalized.

WNDU reports the incident involving an SUV and a sedan happened Wednesday in the area of Ewing Avenue and Marine Street at about 3 p.m.

Two people in the SUV, including a young child, were seriously injured.  The sedan driver sustained multiple injures.  All three were taken to area hospitals.  None of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the sedan was taken into custody after police determined that impairment was likely a contributing factor in the accident.
