BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM - The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office released an urgent traffic advisory to drivers following a motor vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon.
In a post at 2:54 p.m., the BCSO said the crash prompted the closure of Sandia Crest Road in both directions at about mile marker 4. Drivers were advised to avoid the area while law enforcement and emergency crews were at the scene.
The BCSO also issued a reminder that road conditions were extremely icy and snowy at the time. The roadway was reopened about an hour later, but driving was still reported to be hazardous.
