LAS CRUCES, NM - Officials in Las Cruces said a motorcyclist was killed in an accident Saturday night on north Main Street.
According to the city's news release, 42-year-old Jesse Kelly was riding north on a Harley Davidson motorcycle at about 10:40 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve near Oban Court. The motorcycle struck the center median and Kelly was thrown from the bike. No other vehicles were involved.
Kelly, an Arizona resident, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Investigators said speed and alcohol appear to have been contributing factors in the incident.
