INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Police were dispatched to the scene of a car accident in Fountain Square in Indianapolis on Wednesday afternoon, WTHR reported.
A driver crashed into a restaurant in the 1100 block of Prospect Street near East Morris Street at about 2:45 p.m. Responding officers were notified that the crash also involved a structure collapse.
Police said a man told them he was waiting at a stop light when his foot slipped off the brake and accidentally hit the gas pedal, causing the collision. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
The restaurant was closed at the time of the crash. Two workers inside were not injured.
