MARION, IN - Authorities announced an arrest in a hit-and-run incident in Grant County Tuesday morning that left a child injured.
A report by WXIN said the suspect was identified as 49-year-old Jimmy E. Roll. According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, a child was riding a bicycle in the 2700 block of W. 38th Street in Marion when he was hit from behind by a General Motors vehicle at about 6:10 a.m. The boy, who was riding his bike to catch his school bus, was hospitalized in stable condition.
The driver of the vehicle involved fled the scene without stopping to help. Investigators said evidence from the scene included a General Motors side mirror, and it was that evidence that helped lead to Roll's arrest. He was being held on charges of accident-causing injuries and failure to stop after an accident.
