ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A multi-vehicle accident in Albuquerque on Sunday night left one person dead and five others injured, KRQE reported.
A total of five vehicles were involved in the wreck, which occurred in the area of Lomas Boulevard and 2nd Street NW shortly before 7:30 p.m.
Albuquerque police said their investigation found that a driver going east on Lomas Boulevard entered the intersection and was hit by a northbound vehicle. The second vehicle continued into the westbound lanes of Lomas and collided with three other vehicles that were stopped at a red light.
The driver of the second vehicle was killed, while the injured victims were taken to an area hospital. One of the injured had to be extricated from a vehicle.
Police say speed is being investigated as a cause of the accident.
