ELKHART COUNTY, IN - Two vehicles collided at an intersection in Elkhart County on Monday afternoon and both drivers were cited for the incident, according to WBND.
The accident happened in the area of County Road 38 and County Road 9 at about 2:42 p.m. The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office said 73-year-old Brian Gravenhorst of Aurora, Illinois was driving a 2019 Toyota Prius and stopped at the intersection, but then proceeded north without yielding the right of way. The Prius then crashed into an eastbound 1999 Dodge Durango.
Gravenhorst and the Dodge driver, 55-year-old Bartolo Gonzalez of Goshen, were taken to Elkhart General Hospital with chest pain. A passenger in the Prius was not injured.
The sheriff's office said Gravenhorst was cited for failure to yield to right of way, while Gonzalez was cited for driving while suspended.
