Collision in Grant County leaves 1 driver dead, 1 injured

GRANT COUNTY, IN - One driver was killed and another injured when their vehicles collided in Grant County on Friday, reports WTHR.

Police officers were called to the scene on Western Avenue near 4th Street in Marion shortly before 5:30 p.m. Investigators found that the driver of a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan was going south on Western Avenue and struck the driver's side of a 1989 Ford Ranger at the intersection with 4th Street.

The Ford driver died after being taken to an area hospital.  He was identified as 56-year-old James Miller of Marion.  The 19-year-old man driving the Dodge sustained minor injuries while a passenger in the Dodge was not injured.

The fatal crash is under investigation by Indiana State Police.
