Collision in Kosciusko County leaves 1 driver dead, 1 injured

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, IN - One driver was killed and another was taken to the hospital after their vehicles collided in Kosciusko County on Monday evening, reports the Goshen News.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office said the fatal wreck occurred at the intersection of South Indiana 13 and County Road 1000 South at about 5:55 p.m.

Investigators learned that the driver of a 2004 Buick LeSabre was going east on County Road 1000 south when he failed to yield to a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander headed south on Indiana 13.  The Buick driver pulled into the path of the Mitsubishi and the vehicles ended up in a crash.

The driver of the Buick, 24-year-old Jason Jones of South Whitley, died at the scene.  The driver of the Mitsubishi, 61-year-old Susan Lewis of North Manchester, was transported to a hospital in Fort Wayne with pain in her lower body.

The accident is being investigated by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, which was assisted at the scene by local police and first responders.
