Collision in Washington County leaves 1 driver dead, 1 injured

LITTLE YORK, IN - Two pickup trucks were involved in a deadly crash in Washington County on Monday morning, WISH TV reports.

Indiana State Police were dispatched to the scene on State Road 56 near Elk Creek Road after the incident occurred at about 7:31 a.m. According to investigators, 62-year-old James Fox of Austin was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when he crossed into oncoming traffic.

Fox's vehicle collided nearly head-on with a 2013 GMC Sierra driven by 46-year-old Jason Terrell, causing both vehicles to go off the roadway.

Fox died at the scene, while Terrell was transported to a hospital with undisclosed injuries. State Road 56 was closed for about four hours while the area was being cleared and investigated.
