Man injured in collision of 2 dump trucks in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, IN - A collision involving two dump trucks in Madison County sent both drivers to the hospital, WISH reports.

The incident happened Monday morning in the area of State Road 38 Road and State Road 13 near the town of Lapel.

According to the Madison County Sheriff's Department, the two trucks were both heading west on State Road 38 shortly before 9 a.m.  When one of the drivers slowed down while approaching a stop sign, the vehicle was rear-ended by the second dump truck.

The driver of the second truck, 52-year-old Branden Behr of Fairmount, was seriously injured and airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.  The driver of the first truck, 59-year-old David Gardner, was hospitalized with minor injuries. 

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.  Both trucks involved are owned by S&H Trucking in Anderson.
