Collision on NE side of Indianapolis leaves 1 dead, 3 injured

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A collision in Indianapolis early Sunday morning left one person dead and three others hospitalized, reports WRTV.  

The accident happened on Allisonville Road near the intersection with East 66th Street on the city's northeast side.

Police officers responded to the scene shortly after 1 a.m., and found the crash involved a Chevy Cruze and a Chrysler 300.  WISH reported the investigation showed that the two vehicles were going southbound at high speed when the Chrysler struck the back of the Chevy.

The man who had been driving the Chrysler 300 was pronounced dead at the scene.  Two adults and a juvenile in the Chevy were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The accident remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
