Collision on southwest side of Indianapolis leaves driver dead

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Two vehicles were involved in a deadly collision in southwest Indianapolis on Monday morning, police said.

A report by WXIN states that the accident happened at the intersection of Ameriplex Parkway and Exploration Drive, shortly before 1:15 a.m. A police investigation indicated that the driver of a southbound Dodge Challenger crashed into a vehicle going west on Exploration Drive.

The driver of the Dodge, a man, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital. There was no word on whether the other driver was injured.

The wreck is being investigated by th eIndianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
