Crash on I-465 slows rush-hour traffic on NW side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A crash disrupted rush-hour traffic on the northwest side of Indianapolis on Wednesday morning.

According to an advisory from WIBC Traffic at 6:47 a.m., an accident with entrapment shut down northbound Interstate 465 at West 86th Street. There was no immediate word regarding injuries.

All three travel lanes on the interstate were temporarily shut down, with traffic getting by only on the right shoulder. Traffic was snarled through the area, with delays stretching back to 71st Street. Motorists were advised to avoid the area if possible.

All lanes of I-465 reopened later in the morning following the crash investigation and cleanup.
