INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A crash was impacting traffic on the northwest side of Indianapolis during Wednesday morning's commute.
In a notification on X at 5:56 a.m., Indiana State Police said the accident was on Interstate 65 southbound at the 126 mile marker. It reduced the interstate to one lane, with traffic getting by on the shoulder.
The northbound lane was shut down while emergency vehicles responded to the incident. Drivers were advised to expect long delays, drive slowly, and watch out for first responders.
State Police issued an update at 7:06 a.m. saying the crash had been cleared and lanes were reopened, but alerted drivers that there were still residual delays.
