Driver, 19, injured in collision with pickup truck in Anderson

ANDERSON, IN - A two-vehicle collision in Anderson early on Sunday morning left one of the drivers hospitalized, police said.

A report by the Herald Bulletin states that the crash took place in the 1800 block of West 53rd Street at about 2:30 a.m. An investigation indicated 19-year-old Jacob Heath was driving an SUV westbound when he lost control of the vehicle. Heath swerved into the eastbound lane and crashed into a pickup truck.

Heath was reported to have suffered severe injuries and was taken to a hospital in Indianapolis for treatment. The pickup driver, a 60-year-old man, was not injured.

The crash is being investigated by the Anderson Police Department Crash Team.
