INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Rescue crews were called to the scene of a crash in Indianapolis that left a driver trapped in his SUV on Sunday, reports WTHR.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of North Meridian Street and West 79th Street on the city's north side. The Indianapolis Fire Department said a man was driving south on Meridian Street at about 5:45 p.m. when he drove off the road, plowed through woods and bushes, and then crashed into a creek.
Firefighters used a basket to float the man out of the water after he was trapped briefly in the vehicle.
The driver was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
