HENDRICKS COUNTY, IN - Police said a driver was fatally struck by a vehicle after being involved in a previous crash in Hendricks County early Monday morning.
WXIN reports details of the incident that took place on Interstate 74 near Ronald Reagan Parkway in Brownsburg. Authorities responded to the scene near the 68 mile marker at about 1:30 a.m. after a driver going west on I-74 crashed into the median.
After getting out of the car and starting to walk across the eastbound lane, the driver was hit by a sheriff's department vehicle. The victim's identity has not yet released.
The sheriff's deputy stayed at the scene and then was taken to an area hospital for a voluntary blood draw.
