FISHERS, IN - Police said a driver trying to evade a traffic stop crashed into a home in Fishers Thursday night, WXIN reports.
The incident began at Allisonville Road and East 116th Street, where a police officer tried to pull over a Kia sedan with a false license plate shortly before 11:30 p.m.
According to Fishers police, the driver of the Kia took off as the officer approached, kept going and turned off the vehicle's lights. The officer discontinued the pursuit after losing sight of the car.
Shortly afterwards authorities were notified that a car had crashed into a home in the 11000 block of Easy Street and that someone had been injured. The injured victim was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
Police believe the driver of the Kia abandoned the car and fled the scene on foot.
