WHITELAND, IN - The Indiana State Police were at the scene of a fatal accident in Johnson County early Sunday morning, reports WTHR.
The crash happened on Interstate 65 near the exit for Whiteland Road sometime before 4:30 a.m. Investigators said 23-year-old Destiny Johnson was driving a Chevrolet Malibu on southbound I-65 and drove off the right side of the road. The car went onto the shoulder and crashed into the back of a parked semi-truck. The Malibu went underneath the semi and caught fire.
Johnson, an Indianapolis resident, was found dead in her car after the fire was extinguished. No one else was injured. Investigators are trying to determine what caused her to go off the road.
The southbound lanes of I-65 were closed for several hours for the accident response and investigation.
