Driver, passenger hurt when car hits pole in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, IN - An accident on County Road 20 in Elkhart County last Wednesday afternoon sent two people to the hospital, authorities said.

According to WBND, investigators believe a driver was going at a high rate of speed at about 3 p.m. and was forced to stop quickly.  The driver lost control and the vehicle slid through the intersection with County Road 111, where it collided with a utility pole.

The driver and the passenger in the car were transported to Elkhart General Hospital with what were reported to be minor to moderate injuries.

The cause of the wreck is under investigation by the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.
