THOREAU, NM - New Mexico State Police were at the scene of a fatal accident in Thoreau on Friday night.
The crash happened in the vicinity of New Mexico 371 and New Mexico 122, state police said in a traffic alert tweeted at 9:31 p.m. No details were released on who was killed in the incident.
The southbound and northbound lanes of NM 371 were shut down at the intersection with NM 122. Drivers were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
