Head-on collision in Harding County kills 1, injures 5

LOGAN, NM - A driver was killed in a two-vehicle collision on New Mexico 39 in Harding County early Wednesday morning, reports KFDA.

An investigation by New Mexico State Police found that a man was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe southbound near Logan at about 1 a.m. when he crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2014 Toyota Sienna van head-on.

The driver of the Tahoe, 35-year-old Cesar Gomez Lucio of Hobbs, New Mexico, was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was not wearing a seat belt, state police said.

The 35-year-old driver of the Toyota and four adult passengers were injured in the crash but the severity of the injuries was not disclosed.
