GRANTS, NM - A multi-vehicle accident shut down a stretch of Interstate 40 in the Cibola County area on Friday morning.
In an advisory at 9:42 a.m., New Mexico State Police said multiple commercial vehicles were involved in the wreck between Grants and Gallup. All eastbound lanes of I-40 near mile marker 47 were closed while authorities and emergency crews responded to the scene.
State Police issued an update about four and a half hours later that all lanes of I-40 had been reopened.
