Indiana state trooper injured after patrol car struck in North Split

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - An accident near downtown Indianapolis Wednesday injured an Indiana State Police trooper, authorities said.

According to a report by WISH, the trooper was sitting in his patrol car at the North Split to protect a crash scene ahead of him in the northbound lanes of Interstate 65.  Another car rear-ended his vehicle at about 10:30 a.m.

The trooper suffered minor injuries, state police said.  The driver of the other car was transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.  

No injuries were reported from the previous crash.  Indiana State Police are investigating the circumstances of what happened.
