INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 70 Monday morning sent an Indiana state trooper to the hospital, WXIN reports.
Indiana State Police said the incident occurred along Interstate 70, where a trooper with the last name Beltran was investigating a previous accident. The trooper's squad car was not moving when it was hit from behind by another vehicle. The impact sent the squad car forward, causing a collision involving a total of four cars.
Trooper Beltran was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, and was treated and released. No one else was injured.
Indiana State Police said the incident served as a reminder that under a new state law, motorists have to slow down and move over when vehicles are stopped on the side of the road.
