INDIANAPOLIS, IN - An Indianapolis police officer was among three people injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon.
According to WXIN, the incident happened in the area of Georgetown Road and W. 56th Street on the northwest side of the city. Several vehicles as well as an Indianapolis police patrol car were involved in the collision that happened just before 3 p.m.
The officer and two other injured victims were reported to be awake and breathing, and were taken to area hospitals.
Each driver will submit to a blood draw, which is standard procedure in a serious injury accident.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
