ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A man was arrested last week after he was involved in a crash that injured a passenger in another vehicle, according to Albuquerque police.
A report by KOB states that the accident occurred early Wednesday morning on Interstate 25 south. An investigation indicated that the driver of a Lexus SUV was traveling at high speed when the vehicle hit the back of a Cadillac. A back seat passenger in the Cadillac was transported to an area hospital and was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the Lexus, identified as Alex Tafoya, allegedly ran from the scene but was apprehended by New Mexico State Police. Police said Tafoya appeared to have been impaired.
He faces multiple charges, including leaving the scene of an accident with great bodily harm and having open contaners.
I-25 south was shut down in the area for about two hours for the crash investigation. Should any additional information come to light, our Albuquerque car accident lawyer will update this news blog.
