AUBURN, IN - Indiana State Police said a semi-truck and a mowing tractor were involved in a collision on Interstate 69 near Auburn Tuesday afternoon, WXIN reports.
ISP said the driver of the semi veered off I-69 at about noon and struck the tractor, which was on the right side of the interstate. A man inside the tractor was critically injured in the crash. The truck driver was also hospitalized for evaluation.
Investigators believe impaired driving was the cause of the incident. The Indiana Department of Transportation said the crash closed the highway between IN 8 and Exit 334/US 6 near Waterloo.
Traffic in the area was slowed for nearly four hours while authorities responded to the scene.
