INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating an accident that killed a pedestrian Wednesday night, according to WTHR.
Police said the victim was walking in the 10700 block of East Washington Street when the crash occurred at about 9:30 p.m. The pedestrian, 35-year-old Alexander Claytor Dabney, was crossing the road northbound near German Church Road when he was struck by a vehicle headed eastbound.
Dabney was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the scene and was taken for a blood draw, which is standard procedure for drivers when a crash has resulted in serious injury or death.
