ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A man was killed in a motorcycle accident in northeast Albuquerque on Monday afternoon, police said.
According to a report by KOAT, the incident happened in the vicinity of San Mateo Boulevard and Mountain Road.
Police officers responded to the scene at about 1:40 p.m. and found that the motorcyclist had been ejected from his bike. The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation found that the motorcyclist had been traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and crashed into a sidewalk.
Albuquerque police are continuing to investigate the crash, which shut down northbound San Mateo Boulevard at Mountain Road. No other vehicles were believed to have been involved.
