Man pleads no contest in fatal Albuquerque drunk driving accident

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A plea agreement was reached last week in the case of a man charged in a fatal crash in Albuquerque in 2020, KRQE reports.

Zachary Jaramillo of Albuquerque pleaded no contest to homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence.  The accident happened on westbound Paseo Del Norte Boulevard near San Pedro Drive.

According to investigators, Jaramillo was driving drunk at high speed when he rear-ended an SUV, causing it to go off the roadway and crash into a median.  The other driver was killed in the collision.

DWI officers who arrived at the scene determined that Jaramillo was driving under the influence.  He will face up to ten years in prison when he is sentenced. Should any additional information come to light, our Albuquerque car accident lawyer will update this news blog.
