SANTA FE, NM - Police said a Rio Arriba County man died after being hit by a vehicle along a highway in Santa Fe on Monday night, reports the Santa Fe New Mexican.
The victim was identified as 42-year-old Isaac Edward John Trujillo of Ohkay Owingeh. A witness reported seeing Trujillo standing next to a vehicle that had pulled over on the side of the road on U.S. 84/285. When the car left, Trujillo was seen running across three lanes of traffic.
A driver going north in the left lane said he did not see Trujillo in time to avoid a collision, and struck him. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a minor, was released from Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center after being evaluated. A portion of U.S. 84/285 was closed for the crash investigation.
