INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A moped driver died following a collision in Indianapolis on Monday evening, reports the Indianapolis Star.
Police were called to the scene in the vicinity of Bacon Street and Carson Avenue after the incident was reported shortly after 6:30 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the moped operator failed to yield at a stop sign while heading west on Bacon Street. The moped was then struck by a truck going north on Carson Avenue.
The moped driver was pronounced dead after being rushed to an area hospital. Police said the truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Weather is being examined as a possible contributing factor in the crash.
