MADISON COUNTY, IN - Authorities in Madison County are investigating a crash that sent a moped rider to the hospital on Thursday morning.
According to WTHR, the incident occurred on State Road 9 northbound near County Road 600 North, north of Anderson.
Investigators with the Madison County Sheriff's Office determined that a moped rider was hit from behind on the roadway by a Toyota sedan at about 7:30 a.m. The moped rider, a 27-year-old Anderson man, was seriously injured and was transported to Community Hospital Anderson. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, officials said.
The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man from Anderson, was not injured.
