Motorcyclist dead after colliding with car on east side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A motorcyclist died after collising with an SUV on the east side of Indianapolis Wednesday morning, reports WISH.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the two vehicles crashed at the intersection of North Post Road and East Washington Street at about 6:30 a.m.

The man who was riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead at an area hospital. A young girl riding in the SUV was taken to the hospital for treatment. The woman driving the SUV was also transported to the hospital for a blood draw, standard procedure after a fatal crash.

The intersection was blocked off to traffic for several hours while the scene was being cleared and investigated.
