Motorcyclist dies after collision on south side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Police in Indianapolis said a motorcycle and a vehicle were involved in a fatal collision on Sunday afternoon, according to WISH TV.

The incident occurred on the city's south side at about 2:55 p.m.  Investigators learned that a motorcyclist going north on South Emerson Avenue collided with a southbound vehicle that was making a turn at the intersection with Heathwood Drive.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital.  The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, and also received a blood draw, which is standard procedure after a fatal crash.
