Multi-vehicle accident in northeast Albuquerque leaves 4 injured

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a motor vehicle collision in northeast Albuquerque on Thursday evening.

In a Facebook post, the rescue squad said its crews were dispatched to 1520 Juan Tabo Boulevard NE at about 6:08 p.m. for a crash involving three vehicles and multiple patients.  The impact caused one of the vehicles to hit a building and caused structural damage.

Two people were transported by ambulance to local hospitals with what was reported to be significant injuries, while two other people were assessed at the scene.  One of the injured had to be extricated from their vehicle.

The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident. The Heavy Technical Rescue squad temporarily stabilized the building that was struck until it can be repaired.
