ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A court hearing was held this week for a woman charged in a fatal accident on Interstate 40 in Bernalillo County, the Albuquerque Journal reported.
41-year-old Danielle Archuleta is facing one count of vehicular homicide (driving while intoxicated) in connection with the January 31, 2021 crash.
Authorities said Archuleta was driving a Honda Accord west in the eastbound lanes of I-40 and crashed into a Toyota Corolla head-on. The driver of the Corolla, 29-year-old Nikhil Adhi, was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the hearing Wednesday, Second Judicial District Judge Lucy Solimon ordered Archuleta to complete four required breathalyer tests each day and comply with other conditions of her release or stay in jail pending her trial. Archuleta was seriously injured in the crash. A warrant was obtained to test her blood, and she was arrested in June 2022, our Albuquerque car accident attorney adds.
