Highway 528 north in Rio Rancho closed due to crash involving scooter

RIO RANCHO, NM - An accident involving a motor scooter led to the closure of a highway in Rio Rancho Thursday morning, KRQE reports. 

The accident happened on Highway 528 near Leon Grande Avenue SE sometime after 10 a.m.  There was no immediate information regarding injuries or the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Highway 528 was shut down northbound for over an hour while Rio Rancho Police were at the scene for the crash investigation.  Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes.  The highway was reported to have reopened shortly before 2 p.m.
