ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A man has pleaded guilty in connection with a car accident that killed two people in Albuquerque, reports KOB.
Authorities said Joseph Urvanejo was driving drunk behind the wheel of a Kia sedan when he crashed into the back of an Uber vehicle on May 24, 2019. Two passengers in the Uber, Robbie Gallegos and Kristina Martinez of Albuquerque, were killed. The couple had been on a date, family members said. Urvanejo was reported to have been driving at over twice the speed limit at the time of the collision.
Urvanejo pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide. He faces up to 18 years in prison when he is sentenced.
