News: Multi-vehicle crash closes lanes on I-40 east of Gallup

GALLUP, NM - New Mexico State Police are investigating a crash that shut down a stretch of Interstate 40 Friday morning, reports the Albq Journal.

The multi-vehicle wreck took place on I-40 near mile marker 41, about 15 miles east of Gallup.  The New Mexico Department of Transportation reported the incident on NM Roads at about 9:15 a.m., saying all lanes of I-40 had been shut down in both directions near exit 39.  There were no reports of injuries.

The Albuquerque auto accident occurred as snow, icy roads and reduced visibility were making driving treacherous for motorists along I-40 on Friday morning.
