BLOOMFIELD, NM - The New Mexico State Police are investigating an accident that caused the death of a pedestrian in San Juan County.
The NMSP issued a news release on the incident that took place Feb. 4 on U.S. Highway 64 near Bloomfield at about 7:40 p.m.
Investigators determined that a man was walking south in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 64 and was struck first by a 1997 Ford Ranger, and then again by a 2004 Lincoln passenger car.
The victim, identified as 46-year-old Jonathan Yazzie of Farmington, was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police said alcohol does not appear to have been used by either of the drivers involved, our Albuquerque car accident attorney says.
