OTERO COUNTY, NM - A driver is facing criminal charges in connection with a fatal accident in Otero County earlier this month.
According to KRQE, the incident occurred March 5 on U.S. 54 near the border of New Mexico and Texas. A criminal complaint stated that 32-year-old Rebecca Herrera of El Paso was driving on the highway when she crossed over into the opposite lane and crashed into another vehicle head-on, killing the other driver. The victim's identity was not made public.
Herrero has been now been charged with vehicular homicide, aggravated DWI, and reckless driving, our Albuquerque car accident attorney adds.
