ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in northeast Albuquerque Sunday night, KOB reports.
An investigation determined that the victim was standing in the middle of the road near Chico Road and Polin Springs Trail when they were hit by an SUV shortly before 10 p.m.
The pedestrian, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver involved took off without stopping, police said.
The investigation further indicated that the person who was run over had been reported by witnesses to be looking into vehicles in the area. Albuquerque police are continuing to investigate the incident.
