Pedestrian hit, killed by vehicle on NW side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Indianapolis police were called to the scene of a deadly pedestrian accident on Saturday night, WXIN reports.

The incident happened at 2039 Lafayette Road on the city's near northwest side sometime before 8:42 p.m. Police officers arrived to find that a man had been struck by a vehicle at that location. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. The identity of the victim was not released.
