INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on the east side of Indianapolis Saturday night, reports WXIN.
The victim was an adult male who was found unresponsive after being hit in the area of North Shadeland Avenue and East Washington Street. Police officers responded at about 10:10 p.m. along with EMS crews, who declared the man dead at the scene. His name has not yet been disclosed.
Police said the driver involved stayed at the scene. The incident shut down the westbound lanes of Washington Street, and drivers were advised to take alternate routes.
The crash remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
