Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle on south side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Police officers were called to the scene of a deadly pedestrian accident in Indianapolis over the weekend, WTHR reported.

The incident happened Saturday morning at the intersection of West Southport Road and Bluff Road on the city's south side, where a person was hit by a vehicle at about 6:40 a.m. The victim, whose identity was not released, died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and was reported to be cooperating with police. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
