LAFAYETTE, IN - A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on the east side of Lafayette Thursday morning, Indiana State Police said.
A WTHR report stated that the incident happened along Interstate 65 north near State Road 26. Investigators learned that a pedestrian was walking on I-65 at about 2:15 a.m. and was struck by a vehicle going north in the middle lane.
The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a woman from Indianapolis, sustained minor injuries.
The state police are investigating the incident, which shut down the northbound lanes of I-65. Traffic was diverted to the exit for State Road 26.
