INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Indianapolis police said they have apprehended the driver suspected of being involved in a crash that killed a motorcycle rider.
WTHR reported details of the hit-and-run incident that occurred late Saturday night on the city's west side. An investigation determined that the motorcyclist was headed north on South Lyndhurst Drive sometime before 11 p.m.and was hit by a pickup truck going east on Kelly Street. The motorcyclist, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the driver of the pickup truck fled the scene but was tracked down a short distance away. The driver was arrested but the charges have not yet been disclosed. Investigators believe impairment was a contributing factor in the incident. The suspect had a blood draw done at an area hospital.
